Yeah I saw a video of someone doing that on yuotube... pretty funny, but seems SO incredibly broken, looks like it takes the fun out of the game

I actually backtracked later on, with pots, bombs and better equipment, was much easier that way.

I figured out I could take the gold key you get from the Ogre earlier on and just beeline it to the gate so you only have to fight one enemy at a time. Really helps when you're playing with only one character.
