can anybody check and see if this dungeon downloads?
http://www.nexusmods.com/grimrock/mods/397/?
this one starts easy, which I think all mods/ games should do
I have to say a huge thanks to SteingrÃmur Óskarsson who uploaded the amazing
LOG II tutorials superb

Just downloaded it and it seems to work flawlessly.
Unfortunately I am already stuck- here's where I am (SPOILER ALERT):
I took the branch
I killed the turtles in the start area
I pulled the lever on the left side of the start area
I went to the area to the right and took the club
I killed all turtles there
I went down the stairs and took the key (I couldn't open the door to the crystal)
Going back I found the entrance to the starting area blocked by a portcullis
I find no lever or keyhole to open the portcullis and I am stuck now
Btw, Is it on purpose that it's uploaded in the LoG 1 directory of the Nexus while it is a LoG 2 dungeon?

hi ya StoryTeller
thanks for testing the game out - no that is uploaded in the LoG 1 directory of the Nexus while it is a LoG 2 dungeon because I just saw the drop down "Grimrock Dungeons" it didn't offer a choice of LOG1 or LOG2 AFAIK, probably my cock up, but I never saw any choice of uploading to a LOG2, never mind
so looks like I need to re-design the game if you got stuck, I'll have to think about that, yes you are stuck in a locked in area there, sorry about that, I will have to sort that out
thanks again for testing!!

I have the vague suspicion that I either
a) should have walked straight ahead after pulling the lever and/or
b) not have pulled the lever before I explored the area on the right side
Another thing: The pool in the right side area is behaving strange, the water is not really covering the depression and the surface looks like spikes instead of waves.

Story Teller I am so heartened to see that you just jumped in with this game without reading a word of the accompanying "READ ME"
that is quite refreshing, you didn't want any forewarning of how the game is "supposed" to be played, and that is great!! I have done just the same with a few MODS that I have downloaded
Keep the READ ME for later, in fact ..... you may never need it! even better
but I have taken onboard your "lock in" and I have now made it so that another player would not be stalled, there is now a "method" to "unlock" and this will be included in a new version that I am going to complete by the end of this week
Story Teller when are you going to do a Mod? LOG1 or LOG2, I cannot see your mod ? checked your 17 posts, no mod from you?

Actually I *am* working on my own mod - just like everybody else here I assume
Atm I am trying to finish a demo for the quest system which will be part of the mod but if you happened to check out my blog (link in the sig), you'll see that I also work on stuff for RPG Maker XP, VX Ace, FPS Creator and Neverwinter Nights 2 (yes, this veeeery old game) so my bigger projects tend to be around for several months up to a year before they get finished.
And of course I can't resist to play everything that looks interesting

Quite nice mod, nice secrets and tough fights, but not impossible. But there's a lot of deadlocks. When you push a button, enter pitfall or simply use a key, there's a chance that something happens that makes it impossible to continue. Like being teleported to a place where you can't get out when you don't have the right key or item. In one place there's even a key lock that CLOSES a door. Definitely needs some rework, but I think it'd be worth it!
