savegames on new version of a mod

Post by Faerghail »

Hi all,

I noticed that when playing a mod , making a savegame and then later , using this savegame with a new version of the mod, the things changed with the new version arent seen.
Then , is there a way to continuer a wip mode with savegames of older version of this mod ?

Most things are permanently stuck with the save game, including important things like scripts. Usually stuff that gets added shows up, but existing stuff you change or remove doesn't show up since it's already stored in the save. So any major (and sometimes even minor) changes will require the player to start over to see those changes. Personally I don't see the point of WIP mods for Grimrock anyway.

Oh ok ,i'm a little disapointed... perhaps i'll take down the scope of what i wanted to do with my mod then.... i wanted to make a sort of growing world which players could discover among the chapters... but it seems to be impossible.

Hm? How is it impossible? Can't you just release the mod when it's finished?
