I've officially used Blender and Grimrock Modeling Toolkit for about three days now. I'm starting to get around in the a little, but I'm stumped. I have four distinct objects in Blender, but when I export them to .obj (as taught in Skuggasveinn's tutorials (love you man! I'm glad you won the game giveaway!)), I wind up with only one imported object in GMT, so I can't assign different textures. Something in the import/export is combining the objects, I think. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks, -Lark

Re: Blender Combines Objects - Not Wanted!
what are you export settings ?
Re: Blender Combines Objects - Not Wanted!
I did a screen snippet of your YouTube video when you showed us the export settings. All are off except for: Apply Modifiers, Include Edges, Smooth Groups, Write Normals, Include UVs, Write Materials, Triangulate Faces, Objects as OBJ Groups, and Z-Forward. I've watched that video so many times, it's a wonder it's not worn out! Are these the settings to which you are referring?
Re: Blender Combines Objects - Not Wanted!
.obj format also does not support animation so you might want to use GrimFBX instead. Just be warned that Blender's FBX exporter is kind of bad.

yes, your export settings are correct
two things then to check out.
first: does your scene truly have more then one object
The following screenshot shows 2 objects (it's possible to have one object that has child meshes, and will import into the GMT as one object)

second: are you using the Assimp Importer in GMT ? (don't use the Obj Model importer, it has issues)

Re: Blender Combines Objects - Not Wanted!
I use the Assimp when I can, but for this model, I get error "GMTAssimpBridge: The given key was not present in the dictionary". I'm lucky I can select faces and scale, and I have no idea what this error means.
My Scene isn't as clean as yours. I highlighted my actual models. Now I think I just need to figure how to get them on the "right level".

Thanks, -Lark
