Dungeon editor in for "french user" ?

Post by Rougecorne »

Hello everybody.

I have a problem with the editor. I want to write this text (For exemple, with Forest_Text), but, the editor don't accept that:

1:è
2:é
3:à

So, when i write that:

La journée a été longue.

I can't... i can write that:

La journee a ete longue.

But it's not correct in french. :(

Hahahaha Rougecorne !

More simply, we'll have to use french .... without any french accent ;) Well, at the same time, everyone knows that we are moaners, then ..

Up to version 5.3 (which is only just in Beta), Lua doesn't really have support for UTF strings and working with them in older versions of Lua is pretty faffy. On top of that, the bitmap fonts won't contain the characters and the code accessing them would likely need to be re-written also. Anyway, I imagine that there would be a fair amount of effort involved in either using a public UTF-8 library (none of them were perfect when I looked a couple of years ago) or upgrading to 5.3 (when it's out). I'm not saying AH won't do it (they have a pleasant history of surprising us with new features and the like), but I wouldn't get your hopes up too high!
