So, I wound up making a post on G+ for those with nervous dispositions, mentioning "holy $%^& there are mimics!"
...then I remembered making the same post while playing Grimlock 1.
Something about the mimics opening wide as you bend over to collect loot just gets me.

It's a great reminder not to let our guard down! They did that multiple time during the campaign.
At the end, you start looking around, and when something shiny is just left like that with no apparent danger around, it doesn't feel right.
And the first mimic I encountered scared me to hell as I was soooo immerged in game at this moment.

Yeah my first Mimic was the one in the bog, it's all "Secret Found" *pling* and then "oh nice, loot" and suddenly TEETH!
I jumped quite a bit
From then on I slashed at every chest I found which unfortunately didn't help. After 2 more mimics I discovered a trick: I just looked at the party panel on the bottom right so I wouldn't get jump scared. Worked pretty well for me

I got more scares playing this than Alien Isolation or The Evil Within.
I get tense every time i open a chest still.

That was my first death in the game, as I wandered over there at level 3, thinking that if I kept out in the open, I'd be OK to explore. I had skipped Twigroot tunnels because I didn't want to get trapped in an area just yet...
