I was gifted the game from a friend and he gave me the unique gift link.

I followed it and entered my email address, then was emailed my steam key.

From what I understand the bonus content is supposed to be emailed to us... right?
or is there another method to obtain them?

and to my knowledge neither of us have gotten the bonus content.

It's supposed to be in the humble bundle page, where you got the steam key, IIRC.
