Just a plea to all the modders/Dungeon Masters to please upload your mods to as many places as possible.
I would like to play test as many as possible but don't and will not have Steam.

To any Mods feel free to move if necessary.

Trying to spread the word about this as some authors still aren't aware that Steam Workshop is Steam exclusive, so there's lots of people who want to play their mods but can't.

I have to second that. I have access to Steam, but purchased on GOG since I use Linux, and really hadn't messed with Steam yet. Anyway, keeping them in both places would me a lot to me and others in my situation who love to play mods.

This and this. I would have bought the Steam version if I'd knew things will be like this. Some heads up would have been nice.. But: UPLOAD UPLOAD UPLOAD!!! -- to Nexus :o thank you

My plan is for the WIP version to by on the workshop while I'm working on it, but once I have a finished product, it'll get put on the Nexus as well.

Also, I think the Nexus would be more suited for putting up the source files for my dungeon.

yeah, that's exactly the idea, the Steam "workshop" is to basically have a public "beta" of your map that is being worked on, then publish the finished version more widely

Regardless of that, he probably does not have a steam key for the game.

That's right no steam key.
DRM free for life.

Btw. there is no DRM whatsoever in Grimrock, not even in the Steam version. The Steam version links against the Steam SDK just to get the achievements and Steamwork support.
