cluster bombs?

Post by Hariolor »

Recently finished another run using 4 rogues - two unarmed lizardmen and two throw-specced minotaurs. Way overpowered, but fun.

One thing I noticed this time - I'd saved all my bombs for the final fight, and at one point simultaneously threw all my fire bombs (I think about 12) at a

Goromorg that had spawned next to me
. I did this by grabbing them from my character's pack and just clicking on the screen (as opposed to actually arming and attacking).

The mob died instantly.

Am I to understand that it is possible to throw a whole stack of items at once and thereby cause damage for every item in the stack? I also tried throwing a pile of lightning bombs

at the final boss, and it nearly killed it - it died like one hit later
.

Has anyone else noticed this phenomenon. Is this a feature or a bug? It's certainly very very powerful.

However, throwing multiple items (bombs in your case) requires doing it with the mouse cursor. You cannot do it from your hero hand. I think, that the main problem with this approach is that if you kill directly the opponent you get no experience!

Hi.

Funny idea: Clusterbomb 'em away ... ! ;)

I agree with you, as this kind of "attack" wouldn't be connected with a single character. But imagine this: You weaken the creature by throwing a load of something at it, and afterwards each character attacks once and - doing so - the last one kills the beast, so everyone would receive 100% XP.

And as for the end-boss:

Well, XP is no issue at all, right? ;)
But anyway: This is kind of crazy and probably an "unbalanced situation between feature and bug" ... :D By the end of my first game I had like 15 bombs of lightning, half a dozen fireball bombs, 11 ice-bombs and some poison-cloud-bombs ... Being able to throw them around without having to think about the cool-down-phase of the characters and also being able to dish out tons of damages ... I am not sure, whether this is meant to be the way as it is based on your description ...
