Licensing of Linux Version.

Post by hammurabi »

Hello.

Suppose I buy the game right now..

When Linux version is available will I be able to switch from MS Crap to Linux version without additional charge or will I have to pay for linux version separetely?
I read that wine runs the game silky smooth, but it is always better to have the native version.

Best Regards

Hard to say, I think the team are looking into the possibilities regarding other versions and such.

Actually we are fully occupied already so there no plans for other platforms at the moment.

Despite of fact, that i'm a linux user with no other OS on PC, think there no need separate linux-release of LoG. This game almost flawlessly runs in wine, fully playable and, looks like there are no bugs at all.

As for me, there would be great to see new addon, level editor and so on, with only remark - please do not break compability with wine :)

Well, it runs in wine quite well. But I'd really like to have some possibility to buy a Linux version or at least to be counted as a Linux player. I guess you don't have any statistics on the operating systems of the players. If you realease the game for Linux in a few months, then probably most of the people will have finished the game using wine and you won't get much increased income, thus(possibly) thinking that there's no point in making other games for that OS. I just want to buy Linux games and show there are people willing to pay for games and that there's a market for Linux games.
I really like Grimrock, but this makes me sad :(
