If possible, I would like a HINT and not a full solution so I can feel like I'm partly successful on my own :-p
Anyway, this is the first Iron Door that's giving me trouble. It requires a key it looks like. I'm guessing it has something to do with the "Walkabout" area where I found a rock on the ground and a floor tile occasionally clicks when I walk over it. It is maddening
If I recall, it requires the same type of key that use you use to unlock the other gates near it. I can't remember if walkabout is one of the puzzles that gives a key or not. As for walkabout, if you manage to get three separate clicks, you know you're on the right track.

I think you're thinking of a different level. No place with lots of pits or fiery guys on level 6. Unless I missed a hidden button that leads to it or something.

It's in Halls of Fire I think. There's some face thing on the wall across a pit that can be bridged by shooting a fireball at it. I think I figured that out last time a by lucky guess. If you can't cast fireball, there should be an item nearby that can help.
I seriously have been looking around for an hour and staring at my map and checking walls and stuff. I just glanced at my map again and noticed a whole area I never went to, and this is of course the Halls of Fire. I have no clue how I missed it :-p
