Hi Iostsol

I found some time to resume my game (I got lost in some assets customization in-between) but I need some advice again (hopefully for the last time  ).

I'm at the Tower 1st floor
SpoilerShow
I've got the arcana key and the green orb and opened the west door, but I'm scratching my mind with the poem. I can't see any possible interaction with the altar in that room nor to which other part of the dungeon it is related to). The only thing I see is the four portaits and candles at the 2nd floor because I didn't figure out the use of it. I also tried the green orb on almost (I guess ?) all the pedestals in the Tower 1st floor, but maybe the two green doors open from the other side... So, what is my next step here???
Thanks!
K.

Hi Khollik,

West side altar:

Hint:
SpoilerShow
This altar requires 4 items just like the altar on the opposite side of the tower. Look through your remaining items and the answer should become clear.
Solution:
SpoilerShow
Place the 4 boss remains on the altar.

The green orb and others:
SpoilerShow
The 2 green doors can be opened up from the side of the map you are on. The objective of this puzzle is to get all the way to the North of the map. Keep in mind that with this puzzle, an orb on a pedestal can open a door of the same color even if there are walls between the two.

Thanks

Well, well, well, Evil was banished !!!... until next time? ;)

Congrats Iostsol, I truely enjoyed playing your mod. The mood is excellent, the puzzles very original and interesting, and you obivously gave importance to the details :P :P :P

As for my stats:
14:00 hours (in hard) but you hepled me a couple of times
10 secrets
5 treasures
16 rubies
7 knowledge

As I already said, from my own personal point of view, combats are a little bit too easy. Even in hard, I got rid quite quickly of the final boss (I litterally poured all my ammo on him  ) but I suppose that was not the aim of your mod. I'm confused by some of the puzzles, even with the answer but, again, I still had great fun and definitely recommand anyone who likes puzzle-oriented mods trying yours.

And I think I may have found one last bug
SpoilerShow
in the Tower 1st floor, if you begin by putting an orb on the third pedestal (from left to right), it closes the two portcullis, thus trapping you in the room... I didn't try beginning with the right orb on the third pedestal, though, and can't do it again because I overrid my game save... Don't know if it's all clear...
Cheers

Congrats Khollik !!! Way to banish that evil !

Thanks for the kind words and sharing your stats, I am actually relieved that you found the combat easy !

I did check on that bug you posted and I see what you mean (Yikes! How did I miss that one...) At least its easily fixable, thanks for letting me know about it.

I am curious to know more about which puzzles you still find confusing. If you wanted to, you can send me a PM and I will happily explain them in full detail.

And you are right, my focus wasn't on combat, more on puzzle and atmosphere. But I still want combat to be better. I am slowly updating the mod, I fixed all the known bugs, wildly increased Champion weight capacity and added in a bunch of sacks. I have also done a few improvements to melee combat and backtracking. But I'm undecided on how much effort I want to put into it. On one hand I would like to really detail it out and add additional content and custom assets to entice those who have played it to play it once more. On the other hand I kind of want to close the book on Resident Grimrock and move on to other projects (so many activities !) Anyway, we'll see what the future holds.

Thanks again

Hi hansbleeb,

Tower puzzle:
SpoilerShow
The red and purple doors can be opened from pedestals to the North and South of them. Keep in mind that an orb on a pedestal will open a matching color door even if there are walls in the path between pedestal and door.

The nearby pedestal that opens the side doors will also open a door directly South of it (across the bridge).
Thanks

i am now by the 2 doors with 3 pedestals.. do i need all the 6 orbs now or only 3 collors? its very hard to collect all the colors...i think the key for the gold lock is behind this. doors. .. i tried to open the doors at the end of the bridge but the doors in the north section closed and i can get out then.

Hi hansbleeb,

The objective of this puzzle is to place all 6 colored orbs on the 6 pedestals in the far North room. There is an unfortunate bug that will lock you in this room if you place and remove an orb on a couple of these pedestals. If this happened to you, you will have to reload a previous save. I can't access the editor right now, but as soon as I can I will post the door id so you can open it with the console in case you don't have a good save.

The key for the gold lock is not in this area but can be found at a different location on the level.
Hint:
SpoilerShow
The key can be found in the room on the East side of the map. There is an altar and 4 pictures on the walls.
Thanks
