Not much response on my help request, so I try again. Please help!Ken_Tucky wrote:I'm having trouble with a puzzle on level 2, Bad Choice, in the corridor running east-west with 4 torches on each side and a lever in between.
I notice that some of the torches are called 'Everburning Torch', but there is only 5 of these torches and eight torch-holders.
I tried to put normal torches in the rest of the torchholders, tried different combinations, and also tried to remove all the torches, but nothing happens when I pull the lever.
I hear sounds of monsters south of here, so I believe there is some kind of puzzle here that opens a wall or something?
Furthermore, a bit northwest from this area there is a message on the wall that says "The key to release is along the well-lit path", and I guess this means the place mentioned above.
Hope somebody can help, please.
New Mod: Fate of the Fallen

Re: New Mod: Fate of the Fallen
I have been playing Fate of the Fallen and am really enjoying it. I started with a new party (0 level) and while it wasn't easy, I have been to L1-9, cleared large portions of several levels up to and including L9, and a good portion of several others. The re-spawning skeletal archers (sorry I don't know all the proper monster names), as long as you don't let them get out of hand at low levels, help to beef up the necessary XP.
My one major problem at this point is food! I don't know if I mismanaged my time or not (I usually am watching TV while I play). I'm considering re-starting and being more careful with time and food.
The one issue I have is the lack of scrolls. My wizard can throw a mean shuriken but a fireball or similar would be nice. So far I have found only 1 scroll of invisibility. An offensive spell or two would be nice. I found 2 wooden staffs and a shaman's staff which implies Earth magic might be available. So I am questioning whether or not to take a spellcaster on my next shot at the dungeon.
Already looking forward to FotF 2. - BearCatNJ
NEXT DAY: Duh! It finally occurred to me that I had the scroll info from the LoG dungeon! And I also restarted with the same starting party and found the scroll room at the SE of Level 3! <sigh>

Re: New Mod: Fate of the Fallen
I have reached both end-games, and still have levels 15 and 16 to play! As frustrating as some of the combats got to be, a little bit of
stick-to-it-iveness got me through (I was able to count up the number of ogres on L14 by stockpiling their hammers, but can only guess at the other monsters). There are a couple of puzzles I have not solved, or at least don't know that I solved them - the torch & switch puzzle on level 2, and the caged treasures on level 14. I also don't have the key for the locked door on level 8 (SE corner) and I can't find a way onto level 7. There are also some wide open spaces on some of the levels that lead me to suspect there is something else there, but not that I can locate.
If anybody can help with these, it would be appreciated.
All in all, I had a lot of fun playing this dungeon. My earlier problem with food was obviously my own screw up. I had more than enough food this time, and places to get more if I ran low. The puzzles in general weren't difficult (with the exceptions of the ones mentioned above), but it wasn't always obvious what switches / pressure plates did what. I look forward to future material.
[It would be great to see a completed set of maps, with some minor notes.]
