Resolution problem
Resolution problem
I have a native resolution of 1920 x 1080. When I first started the game, it automatically changed to 3200 x 1800, with a weird line appearing in the upper left corner of the main menu :
Downsampling: 1 level 3200 x 1800 -> 1920 x 1080 (bilinear scaling)
I went to the options and changed the resolution to 1920 x 1080 and hit apply, but it stayed in 3200 x 1080. Then I tried to change it in the .cfg file and succeeded, but then the cursor didn't work properly. I could only click the buttons in the main menu by placing the cursor somwhere up and left to them. Any suggestions on how to fix this would be appreciated.

Re: Resolution problem
On first start LoG uses the highest resolution your system offers and if that is 3200 x 1800 the game will use it!
My take is you are running something like nVidia's DSR.
After changing the resolution in options menu the game will use this choosen resolution - unless(!) it can't write to it's configuration file "grimrock.cfg" located in "My Documents\Almost Human\Legend of Grimrock". Then the game will of course again run with the highest resolution your system offers.
My take is you got a permission problem inside your system.

Re: Resolution problem
The file is free for all access, if you mean that. It's not read-only or anything. I wouldn't know which other permission issues there could be.
Re: Resolution problem
Also, when I change the resolution back to 3200 x 1800 does write in in the config file, I think the problem has to do with this downsampling thing.
As I wrote, I can get it to appear in 1920 x 1080, but then the mouse cursor is misplaced.

Re: Resolution problem
Seems you got a general config problem in your system.Schnörkel wrote:As I wrote, I can get it to appear in 1920 x 1080, but then the mouse cursor is misplaced.
I'd start by disabling any kind of zoom functions that seem to be active in your config.

I wouldn't know what kind of zoom function existed, the windowpos thing is the only one I can't make sense of. Could it be that?

Re: Resolution problem
I said "general" which means it's not game related.
I've played around with nVidia DSR and i know that LoG works perfect with it, no matter if a DSR resolution or my regular native display resolution is in use. I did not observe any mouse offset using DSR so there is something else going on in your system that we don't know about.
EDIT: are you running something like this?

Re: Resolution problem
Well I don't have any zoom functions active and am not running Gedosato, any other suggestions?
Re: Resolution problem
Now this happens on startup.

Tried reinstalling, verifying cache, searched all around the web for solutions for all these issues...
Multiple sighs

XAudio2 is a part of DirectX.
Re-run the DirectX installer that came with the game.
