Keelbreach Bog cryptic statues

I can't understand what these two statues mean:

"Generations before you have trodden these paths.
Only he and they had the patience to follow them to the end."

"He and they are more concerned with who are allowed to enter than who are left out"

Any ideas?

It annoyed me as well, atmosphere?

The first one might refer to the meteor heads. The second one (and first) might refer to the second ending.

The second one in your OP might be a second cryptic clue to the 4 broken heads and the gated chest... like the one u dig up is better than the one in the gate

...more likely both are red herrings though, to make you look around for no reason... like how the note at the stump taunts u.

Aye i got one. Yet it requires that you did finish the game. Otherwise it's a massive spoiler on lore.

Defeating the Island Master yields the party several things: the masters staff, the masters key and the testament. By reading the testament the player learns that the island master is also the guardian of the nexus, that he was not the first to do so and that there have been in fact many countless(?) others before him.

This concludes to:
- the "path" refered to by the statues is the path to enlightment, accessing the nexus and becoming the island master
- the "he" refered to by the statues obviously refers to the current island master
- the "they" then refers to all past island masters before the current one
- their "concern" is to find the next worthy guardian of the nexus
