Alchemist herb-growing? Location of a magic catalyst? etc.

Talk about anything related to Legend of Grimrock 2 here.

The item is called the Whitewood Wand, and requires 1 in concentration to use. Maybe that'll help refresh your memory and help you recall where you left it. Or you'll find it in a bag or something.

It also looks like a stick so that could also make things confusing if you were clearing your inventory and not reading the item names.
It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.

The description says it's used to channel a wizard's energy, so you likely just missed it on the floor. I've done that before and I've restarted more than a few times.

If you can't find it, you can find at least 2 more in the forgotten river.
SpoilerShow
Both of them are right next to the castle. One is down some stairs marked "The Cache". Specifically, once you go down the stairs, look for the sign marked "Conjurer's Cache". The other is protected by a forcefield. Either one will require a gold key to get. You'll find a key in the Cache.
