As the title suggests, the game froze upon loading the save game. HDD light was on non-stop and after waiting for a while I closed the application. Any reason for the very slow load times / freezes?
Interestingly enough as compared to Grimrock 1 the load and save takes way longer, also the response rate when right clicking the attack buttons is noticeably delayed vs what I experienced in the original game which felt way more snappy and responsive.
Anyway will try to launch and load my quick save again.

Re: grimrock2.exe freezes Problem Event Name: AppHangB1
The devs explained it somewhere in the forum it is due to some generalisation of the save format, which seems to help the modding community. It saves now everything into savefile as now everything in the game (theoretically) could be dynamic, increasing the save-format size (on the other hand it is not enormous, so I guess the serialization part could be optimized...).lisior wrote:As the title suggests, the game froze upon loading the save game. Have you checked your FPS?(debugInfo=true in the grimrock.cfg) Also, several people report lagging problems with either v-sync and/or triple buffering, play with the GFX options & search the forum this is a often occuring problem. If you found a solution please report back & if not please forward it to the developers, to increase the awareness on this issue.lisior wrote: also the response rate when right clicking the attack buttons is noticeably delayed vs what I experienced in the original game which felt way more snappy and responsive.

FPS should not be of any concern with an i7 2600k, a GTX 970 and an even unusual native resolution of 2048x1152 pixel.badhabit wrote:Have you checked your FPS?(debugInfo=true in the grimrock.cfg) Also, several people report lagging problems with either v-sync and/or triple buffering, play with the GFX options & search the forum this is a often occuring problem. We already discusses input lag here including possible solutions. Most likely his nvidia driver settings need to be tweeked.
