Want to slow the game down
Want to slow the game down
Combat is too fast for my taste. Dungeon Master felt about right to me, while this game is maybe 1.5-2x faster in combat. Too twitchy for me, and the repercussions of mistakes are too high for me to enjoy just living with it.
I recommend simply including a speed slider or toggle of sorts.
No, I don't want to play on 'easy', I just don't want the game to be quite so twitchy. Maybe 60% of current speed or so.

Re: Want to slow the game down
The game is balanced for the speed it runs at, that being said there are programs that allow you to modify this,
Cheat Engine (use at own risk!)

Fan made timer patch,(adjusting speed may cause other issues so only do this is you feel you must)

So go for it, and let us know how it goes!
Daniel.

Years later, it went very poorly. It made the game play unevenly, and I gave up on it shortly. I never really went back to it.

That's what the difficulty setting is for. If monsters are too fast for you go with "Normal" or "Easy".thimble wrote:Combat is too fast for my taste.

I read your necro'd post and my reply stays the same.thimble wrote:If only you finished reading the post you replied to, it might have addressed this comment before you made it!Dr.Disaster wrote:That's what the difficulty setting is for. Speed-wise "Normal" is really fine.
The speed increase of "Hard" can get dicy at times which it should; otherwise it would not be hard at all.

So your only contribution is "it's not a problem for me, shut up". Wonderful.

Re: Want to slow the game down
Look. I don't want to sound rude but we are talking about a real-time based game here. IIRC in versions before 1.3.x it was possible to influence the game's speed a bit with a console command but that option is gone. So I told you how the speed of the game can be adjusted today to a level you might prefer. If this boils down to playing on "Easy" which IMO is too slow .. well sorry but that's all LoG offers today.
Anyway there is always the common approach to slow either the game or the whole pc down to your liking by use of some 3rd party slowdown utility.

Re: Want to slow the game down
about the only thing "Easy" setting affects is monster reaction speed, so it's a legitimate play-through if you select "Easy".
Finished Dungeons - complete mods to play

That still works for me though.Dr.Disaster wrote:... IIRC in versions before 1.3.x it was possible to influence the game's speed a bit with a console command but that option is gone. ...
