[Linux] : Is my pc powerful enough for the game

Post by jean_clume »

Hello there,
love the game and will probably buy it, but as many Linux users i have an old machine (the PC is never used for games).
Here's what i got:
Video: integrated GeForce 6150 (256GB)
CPU: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4800+
Memory: 4GB DDR2 800

Will it be sufficent to run the game?

Thanks!

I could probably play the game just fine with the rendering on "Low", textures maybe on "Medium". The game still looks pretty good with those settings I think, still worth playing. You might be able to use "High" rendering but everything else on low (except Textures, which should be "Medium" to avoid full on crappiness)

Thanks Komag.
Will give the game a try.
Is there a free demo of the game (with just the first level of dungeons) to test it?

Your CPU and RAM are fine but that nForce 4 integrated GF ...
I fear the best you'll get is a 10..15 FPS slide show, even on lowest settings.

my 2010 laptop (which is all I have till my desktop gets a new MB) has a crappy on-board Intel Graphics junk and it runs well on Low rendering, and runs just barely okay on High rendering with other low settings. 15fps might be okay for some as well.

In a contest between "some" 2010 intel onboard junk and a 2004 nforce 4 chip i'd bet my money on the intel.
6 years are a lot of time, even when it's only about onboard gfx chips.

I know video benchmark data cant be scaled linear but just to give it a rough scale: my old XP system has a GF 7600 GT which is capable of running LoG with either 55+ FPS in low render or 40+ FPS in high render (both high texture, rest off, no action beside lighting). Now my GF7 has performance-wise about nine times the gfx power of a GF6150 so 10-15 FPS is a very favorable guess.

Thanks for the feedback, so sorry that i cannot test the game before buy it to check if it runs well on my PC.
Anyway i guess i can put said 30€ on a video card.
What do you think of a:
MSI GT610 1Go DDR3 (low profile)
A small video card with passive cooler for only 30€?

IMO a good investment. If you can upgrade your system with it (best check your manufacturer) i'd go for it!

Yes, I think that card should be able to run the game well. If you buy the game from our store, you can mail or pm me for a refund if the game doesn't work well enough.
