Not that I care for WoW all that much, but I haven't seen a fight that was a Tank and Spank for a while. Even the 5 mans had some pretty complicated fights.
There is a difference, though. In WoW, bossfight mechanics are required to make it not a Tank and Spank fight. Attacks are aimed at specific targets, not at locations, so it's unable to manually dodge out of the way, since the monster attacks you, not the location you're standing. Likewise, you attack the monster, not the location he's standing on, so there is no aiming and dodging required on the player's side (save for AoE abilities), which naturally makes stats a lot more important, than when you're physically able to dodge monsters. Of course, Blizzard has gone a long way towards improving boss fights, including for 5 man instances.
