8-Bit Heroes Portrait Pack

Post by Pajamas »

Hello. This is my first made portrait pack for Legend of Grimrock, the theme is old NES characters such as Mega Man and Mario from back in their youngest of days.

The file is about 1.13 megabites on my disk currently and holds 31 or so portraits. Portraits range from Legend of Zelda to Mario to Final Fantasy and to very obscure games like Rescue the Embassy Mission and Solar Jet-Man: Hunt for the Golden Warpship.

To prove that there are actual portraits, heres a picture of four of them that I have made.

Now excuse the fuzziness on some of the characters, its less noticeable on others but its because of the stretching they had to endure to fit on 128 by 128 and look right.

Anyway, they are all downloadable below.

Have fun everyone!

If you want to retain the classy 8-bit look, you might want to disable anti-aliasing in your image editor, so the "pixels" remain actual pixels, instead of getting blended in.

So thats what that was. At any rate, I like the faded look but I might come back and re-release a separate pack without the anti-aliasing.

EDIT: Actually, I checked one of the photos I made for a picture walkthrough and anti-aliasing was disabled, don't know why it looks the way it does. The picture editor I'm using does weird things when it stretches something so I'll see if I find the answer.
