Legend Of Grimrock Questions

Post by Ninjawitch »

I Love Old School Computer Video Game RPG But I Usually Only Purchase Them On DVD's/CD's So That I Can Take The Disc, Pop It In My DVD Caddy And Install The Game On The Computer.

"Torchlight" Is A Good Example Of A Game That Is In The $14.99 Price Range Where The Entire Game Is On The Disc Permanently Instead Of A Hard Drive Where If It Dies So Too Does The Game You Downloaded.

Also I Stay FAR Away From Games Which Require "Always On" Internet Connectivity.

Does "Legend of Grimrock" Come On Retail Disc And Does It Require The Internet To Operate In Any Which Way Shape Of Form?

Cause In A Year's Time I Will Be Getting Rid Of The Internet Due To Hacking Concerns From Criminal Elements And Spying And Tracking Concerns From The Government Poking Into People's Private Lives And I Like To Play A Game That I Can Pop On My Computer Or Pop On My Laptop And Take It With Me To A Park Or Something.

"Legend Of Grimrock" Does Not Require An Always-On Connection To The Internet If It Is Purchased Through The Grimrock.Net Website Or GOG.Com. The Purchases From Both Vendors Can Be Downloaded An Unlimited Number Of Times, And Do Not Contain DRM. Also, I Would Be More Concerned About Your Malfunctioning Shift Key Than The Government Snooping On You.

LoG doesn't come on a retail disc, but you can feel free to burn the installer on a CD if you feel so inclined. You can find CD cover art on the creative subforum.

LoG comes in two varieties, steam or non-steam. Steam version requires internet like all steam games, for the steam DRM and achievements. If you want the version that doesn't need the net at all, either buy directly from grimrock.net or GOG.COM.

Your habit of capitalizing every word is criminal enough for me.. =)

The Polite : First Thanks For The Replies, I Appreciate It As I Wondered About This Game.

The Rude : Since When Do Self Proclaimed Grammar Nazis And Punctuation Police Have The Right To Insult People For Capitalization When They Post Comments And Questions On A Public Forum? At Least I Am Composing Questions Without Truncation And Internet Slang That Would Make Me Look Like A Tween Texting On A Blackberry Saying "OMGAWDD!!1!". It Isn't As If I Was Screaming With Captials For Pete's Sake People. I Punctualize Out Of Character Style, Not Out Of Insulting The English Language And Punctualization. I Wasn't Aware This Forum Was Made Up Of Old British High Class Taskmaster Fogies Chiding Me On Proper Punctualization. What Next, Sentence Structure Rapping Across My Knuckles? When To Scream Using ALL CAPITALS And When To Whisper Using Reduced Point Print And Fonts? Seriously. One Should Stick To The Question And The Facts And Resist Insulting People On Issues Not Related To The Question Because You're The One Sensitive To When And Where Capitalization With Words Takes Place. I've Been Captializing The First Letter Of Each Word Way Before The Internet Was Invented, And When I Do Capitialize A "WORD" It Is To Emphasize A Point In Much The Same Way One Annunciates A Position Or Fact, Or If That Word Was Taught In School That It Is To Be Capitalized Such As DVD {Digital Video Recorder}, Et Cetera. So I've Decided, Because Of The Condescending Attitude I Encountered That I Feel Best To Forego Purchasing This Game. Not On Account Of Fault Of The Game Or The Designers, Nor With All My Questions Being Answered And Solved, As Any Issues That Were Lingering Have Been Answered. But On Account Of The Character Snipping I Didn't Need To Have Lobbed My Way When I Asked The Question Originally Which Was Replied To. This Is A Case Where "Stick To The Facts" Should Have Been Applied, And Stuck To, And Resisting The Compulsion To Character Assassinate Avoided Even If The Compulsion To Do Such Was Itching For You To Do.

Hi

No need to be rude, they didn't insult u. Oh and no need to capitalize every word too, it makes your text hard to read.

And u can play offline on steam, but still need internet to install it.

Regards.

Ninjawitch, your text is very difficult to read, just skimming the first part of it started to make me feel ill. Because of this I was unable to read your entire post.

It's up to you, you can ignore us, or you can consider writing more normally, I'm sure anyone who reads your posts on the internet would appreciate it. :)

That's an insult if you really want to know. Capitalisation included.

I think the older term "Flamebait" is appropriate here ^_^

It's funny... I agree with everyone else on this thread, but until it was actually mentioned, I did not notice that every word in the OP was capitalized.

** LoG is a perfect game for the non-connected PC. I have systems in rural Mississippi ~with no internet connection and this ~along with any other GoG release, has been wonderful for when I've been out there stuck without internet. LoG requires shader model 3 capable hardware AFAIK.
