There's an item nearby which opens more than one door...

If you remember the lever you pulled to open a door to the catacombs in the first place, the same lever also opens the door in the upper left corner. However, it's timed so run to ut as soon as you pull the lever.
You know you're screwed when the light at the end of the hallway is an onrushing ogre wielding a torch.
