I haven't played half of the games listed, so I sure have some catching up to do. I played Lands of Lore, and enjoyed it. Anvil of Dawn was pretty cool too, but for some bizarre unknown reason I just got tired and stopped...
One I don't think anyone has mentioned yet is Stonekeep, I really liked that game. Grid based, real time combat, creepy atmosphere, funny/weird characters.
There's also Captive for Atari ST / Amiga. Problem is I found it a pain in the butt to find an emulator and get it working... I think I did play Dungeon Master when I was little, but just for a few minutes (yet enough to have it printed into my memory
