Level 8 - Vault of the Dismantler Switch [spoilers]

I just killed a spider that walks over all the pressure plates in the dismantler room. Not sure what his purpose was so I took him out.

Anyways on the wall opposite the faces that shoot the lightning there is a tiny hidden button, I push it and nothing seems to happen. I've pushed it and sprinted all over the place to see if I can hear a moving door but I can't find a thing. I'm curious as to what this is, any ideas?
