Level 5 Iron Door

I've explored level 5 to death, but for the life of me can't open the iron door, which I'd really like to get into seeing how I've briefly been down to level 6 and have had quite a bit of trouble with the ogre. I found the note that says something to the effect of "take your time and rest in front of the dragon statues" and I've stood in front and rested next to the dragon statues I found both at the beginning of the level and at the end of that labyrinth... and nothing happens.

Is there something that I'm missing?

Don't rest in front of the statues, but where each statue's gaze meets.
