Level 6 - Fireball help

So I'm in the 6th level, got all 6 keys to unlock the main doors, now I have the problem of the iron door.
I didn't cast a fireball on the face on the wall and that is my main problem, my mage cannot cast the fireball yet and I was being silly running around using up my fire blade

Is there any way to cast the fireball on the face without the fire blade or without the mage having the spell?
I am having serious problems since I've done everything but the iron door and I still lack 9000 xp for the mage to level

If you've used up the charges on the blade, you need either to learn fireball or get another blade.
