going back after certain dungeon level

I'm not going to spoil anything, so

is there a way to go back after entering the big room just at the start of level 6? I'm starting level 9 now and loosing hope of coming back.
I missed one skull!

EDIT:
It's magic, but after writing this post I checked yet again and
