Does any one know whether water magic level boosts the freeze chance of frost bolt as well a as its damage?
Or is there just a flat percentage chance at all levels? And if so, what is that percentage?

Re: Non Mages casting spells?
I believe you'll just need an item to cast spells with your Alchemist. As soon as you get a wand or orb, you'll be able to take advantage of that skill. Not quite true: even the lowest-level wand requires a level in the Concentration skill to use. If you only have skill levels in one of the element...

Re: Level 5 Earth Wizard
It's unlikely that a pure back-row wizard would specialize in earth.
But an earth battle mage can get a ranged spell for just two skill points, leaving him free to both max out a weapon and get to heavy armor proficiency in a reasonable amount of time.

Re: about LoG 2 intended secondary attacks (see AH blog too)
you simply cannot attack with other party members while you "charge" the special attack. Yet Grimrock is a party-based rpg, or is it not? The thing here is that "charging" a special attack to one party member disables actions of the whole rest party completely. - Choose the char...

Re: Any reason to choose wizard over battlemage?
to cast every single spell in the game only takes 20 skill points total Has anyone found skill books in the game yet? Because otherwise, most characters are likely to end up with about 16 total when they complete the game -- the bulk of the game will be played with far fewer than that A single skil...

the one spell I really think is missing...
...is a "gust of wind" spell that would do minor damage and push the target back a square. Seems an obvious fit for this system

Re: Any reason to choose wizard over battlemage?
Any character can cast spells if you take spells (granted only the Wizard and Battle Mage can cast spells without an orb/staff). Yes, but that's not just an equipment requirement -- it's a build requirement. Unless there's one I haven't run across yet, even the most basic staff requires at least on...

As I understand it, thrown weapon damage is based on strength.

Re: Anyone find a way to cheese the mutation?
This really does seem like a case where taking pot luck is part of the fun. It's not that easy to find a character build that really does benefit from all 4 main stats, but I gave the Mutation trait to a Ratling Wizard who is going to level Fire Magic and Thrown Weapons, which I think comes fairly c...
