Much like you I started on old-school hard and had lots of trouble with the ice lizards, but much like the old classics this game builds on you have to save scum and figure out how to abuse the system some. I think, If you release as standalone it will be up on the Pirate sites the same day. Not a good idea :x It will end up there anyway, there's no way around it. But people who enjoy the game and want to relive this forgotten genre will pay for it and will make sure that word about it is spread :roll:

Grimrock on GOG would be fantastic. I'm a huge fan of their site and policies and would definitely pre-order a copy for me and my other if the game was launched there

I believe that button simply activated a series of hidden walls that lead to a pit. The pit took you to L11 with the Ankh and Orb portals.
