Re: What's the connection between missile weapons and dexter
if you want to use 2 archers, by all means, go for it. just know that you wont get a second bow until i think the 5th level. if i were to play the game differently, the only change i would make is rather than using an unarmed rogue, id probably opt for using a sword. but one thing i would definitely...

Re: weird amount of gained experience
it is probably some sort of hidden bonus multiplier that could be based on any number of things. could be a multiplier because the monster had more than the average amount of health, maybe you killed it extremely quickly and got a bonus, bonus for taking no damage. any number of things like that.

Re: Great game, and feeble attempt at constructive criticism
this is something that has always bugged me about games and mages, is that they dont have any sort of "im a mage, i do this in my free time" sort of attack. everything they do has to be some sort of super powerful world ender, and never just an attack. its like, on one hand, ok, i get it, ...

Re: Prison tile set slowing game down
the place i noticed the lighting effects were whoacrazyhard on processing was i think on level 3 when you had to put the torches around the pillar. everything ran smooth until i got to that part, which is when i turned the settings down. it ran fine from that point on, until i got to parts that had ...

Re: Prison tile set slowing game down
its because all of the ambient lighting effects. and it gets much worse when you fight the boss. the walls in there are made with a reflective surface, which looks really nice, but it stays active even when you turn down all the settings. its the same in all parts of the game. there is just a lot of...

Re: Grimrock with hex tiles
hexagonal grids are generally reserved for things where combat is the focus, as it has certain advantages and disadvantages for all parties involved. however, it doesnt work at all well with the generally accepted 4-way directional control in video games (forward, backward, left, and right). all 3d ...

Re: Level 7 Iron Door Note
there are only 2 sequence puzzles that have the solution handed to you, both of which are on level 9, but i think the reason they are is because getting past them is required, and one of them would be damn near impossible to figure out on your own.

Re: Let's Play LoG... in Dungeons & Dragons!
I mean the first edition of the 80's. The red-boxed set (not the remake for the 4th edition). It was a dungeon crawling style wih simple rules and easy to mod changes. Ah, now I remember! I've seen that and played it for a short while before before we found the AD&D 2nd Edition. When it was mor...

with heavy modification.
well, maybe not really heavy. im just stuck on how you would translate the boss fight into D&D gameplay without making it just incredibly boring/easy. or i guess retardedly difficult either...
