Re: Reluctantly have to quit this game at Level 4
OP claiming to be a female instead of a woman makes me wonder about the authenticity of this post. Her points have been echoed by many, and speaking for myself, I too am tired of the Nintendo-like puzzles. I still maintain, for what it is, it's a great game. It's just not my cup-of-tea and not exac...

Re: Why Not Bring a Mage?
Even if raising elemental skill raises dmg unless its exponential then it doesn't really matter. Most elemental trees need at least 24-25 to get the elemental ball upgrade (fireball, iceball) so at that point you would have 25 skill points which is half of 50 and if its a set value per skill point ...

Re: Do you have general combat tips to share?
Other than playing with doors, the most important thing is to keep moving. If you have a 2x2 room with a squad of four skeleton legionnaires in it, you should be able to kill all of them without taking a single hit. Position yourself diagonally from them, attack the square as they start to move int...

Re: With regret
It's the puzzles that will lead to me abandonment of the game. This is NOT a condemnation of the game, but I've never been a fan of a puzzle-heavy games where many of the puzzles just seem contrived. It destroys the immersion for me. My memory may be failing me but I don't recall any of the EoB gam...

Restarted on easy mode. Not got that far yet & still undecided whether to persevere :( Stick with it mate! :) I won't lie to you - there are harder situations than the one that prompted your initial post. However, that was a particularly devious trick that caught me out on my first visit. As I ...

Re: The Rogue Party
I can see how such a party would be successful, but around level 5 or 6 it's awful. Unarmed guy barely does any damage, and usually 0 - 1 against those armored spearmen/bowmen. The other tank does awful damage too, and frankly they don't seem to be evading much better than typical tanks. Plus, they ...

Frustrated as all get go ...
... but loving it. I'm not sure why either. I normally HATE timed puzzles and combat where I have to dance around. Yet ... I find the combat compelling (as long as I don't wind up stuck in a corner), and it's very satisfying to beat one of those groups of 4 spearmen or bowmen without taking a single...

Re: Options for Frustration Reduction and Age/Ability Fairne
Actually I think you've forgotten what the discussion was about. It's about options, not changes that affect everyone. Let's say the game only had a 'hard' difficulty level, and is as hard as the game is now in the highest setting. Would you object if people asked for easier difficulty levels? Beca...
