Re: Grimrock 2 import
I find that MOST games where you import characters lead to an unsatisfying progression system. There are exceptions, the SSI Gold Box games worked *OK*, but required sort of artificially clamping progression within each title. I think import would have to leave your new characters with very little t...

Re: Speed of the game - Please allow slower play
Luckily the knowledge of pre-casting is already stated in my existing posts.
That doesn't address the raised issues of the interface problems already in the existing posts, however.

So your only contribution is "it's not a problem for me, shut up". Wonderful.

If only you finished reading the post you replied to, it might have addressed this comment before you made it!Dr.Disaster wrote:That's what the difficulty setting is for. If monsters are too fast for you go with "Normal" or "Easy".thimble wrote:Combat is too fast for my taste.

Re: Speed of the game - Please allow slower play
@Dr.Disaster: 1 - the speed problems were not limited to combat 2 - the speed of combat being too high is independent of the strength of the monsters, and the easy level affected both @chaoscommencer: I respectfully disagree. I don't think the requirement to take an action to attack is a problem, an...

Re: Want to slow the game down
Years later, it went very poorly. It made the game play unevenly, and I gave up on it shortly. I never really went back to it.

Re: Why I will not be finishing Grimrock
Sidestepping is inherent to any dungeon master-like game. The only possible way to avoid it is to either a) swarm the party with monsters, or at least never allow a 1v1 confrontation in any 2x2 or larger room, or b) dont have any room accessible at the time of combat that is 2x2 or larger, or c) ma...

At this point I'm assuming Gromrock for IOS is indefinitely on hold.

Speed of the game - Please allow slower play
I liked the idea of Grimrock, but found it, in practice, unplayable because it required much too frantic clicking in the UI. I've played Dungeon Master beginning to the end AFTER trying out Grimrock so real-time isn't the problem, it's really a combination of the speed at which things occur and the ...

Want to slow the game down
Combat is too fast for my taste. Dungeon Master felt about right to me, while this game is maybe 1.5-2x faster in combat. Too twitchy for me, and the repercussions of mistakes are too high for me to enjoy just living with it. I recommend simply including a speed slider or toggle of sorts. No, I don'...
